2003 Combined Talents:
The 18th Annual Florida International

Combined Talents: The Florida International is an annual, juried competition sponsored by the Florida State University Museum of Fine Arts. The competition is open to artists around the world who are 18 years of age or over. Artists may submit up to two works for consideration in the media of their choice. A $15.00 entry fee provides funding for the competition, including production of the catalog.

423 artists entered this year's competition which required the jury to review approximately 840 slides. The jury panel consisted of two faculty members from the FSU School of Visual Arts and Dance: Kabuya P. Bowens, Art Department (MFA, Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia) and Janice Hartwell, Art Department (MFA, University of Massachusetts). The jurors are requested to select works based on their own merit and must agree that the artist demonstrates skill within the chosen medium.

After much deliberation, the jury selected the work of forty-three artists for this year's exhibition. These works represent a wide variety of media and are artistically diverse.
