Why do people join non-profit institutions? Simple explanation: because they are philanthropists and persons of good will. As Dean Emeritus, Jerry L. Draper used to say: "money is nice, but friends are nicer." Friends who are members bring much more than an annual donation; friends demonstrate that a Museum has a following, that it consistently offers exhibitions and hosts events of importance to its regional constituency.
